The Federal Maritime Commission has denied an application by Mitsui OSK, K-Line and NYK to share information. They planned to do that ahead of their container operations merger to create “3J”. That, combined with delays in Japanese antitrust approval, means the July 2017 completion date for the merger may be missed. In the meantime the three are increasing their market share.
