American Sales Slow Japanese Auto Exports as Subaru Recall Beckons

Exports of passenger vehicles from Japan fell by 3% in September, Panjiva analysis of company financial reports shows. That was the first drop since January and follows an 11% surge in August. Honda led the slowdown as it builds up overseas production. Subaru saw the most marked turnaround with a 6% slump after a 19% jump in August. It may have to make a recall after an inspection scandal.
