Asia’s Storms Roil Toyota, Subaru Shipments to Seattle and Tacoma

Container handling through the ports of Seattle and Tacoma climbed 18% higher in September vs. a year earlier to a record high. That was due in large part to a 29% rebound in imports of loaded containers after typhoon conditions caused major delays to shipping due to arrive from Asia in August. Continued stormy weather in Japan in September could lead to a further reversal in arrivals in October.
