Container handling through Mexico’s maritime ports climbed 12% on a year earlier in October, the 16th month of growth and setting a new record. That was driven by a broad-based surge in Mexican trade, though the ports have lagged the broader economy as much of the growth in exports has been directed toward the U.S. The Pacific ports did less well than those in the Gulf, with Cardenas actually seeing a decline in handling.
