Husqvarna reported disappointing fourth quarter results, citing low North American demand. Revenues fell by 1.0% year over year in Q4 while U.S. seaborne imports linked to the firm rose by 18.8%. That may suggest an inventory problem, which was confirmed by CEO Kai Wärn’s statement that “we probably misjudged a bit the inventory level, particularly at the dealer structure, beginning of ’19.” Imports from the EU linked to Husqvarna soared 43.8% higher year over year in Q4, leaving it exposed to a potential U.S.-EU trade war.
