K+N shows rates, not weights, matter; congestion set remain until summer

Freight forwarder K+N reported revenue growth of 5.5% year over year in Q4’20, a significantly slower rate of development than its peers including C.H. Robinson and DP-DHL. The firm’s CEO, Detlef Trefzger, has stated that reflects a “selective growth approach and most likely that will be the path forward for the time being”. The firm’s air freight handling dropped by 7.5% in Q4’20 but may recover with IATA data showing global air volumes rose by 1.1% year over year in January.
