Lego Stacks Up Shipments as Demand Recovery Anticipated

Toymaker Lego reported 1H 2018 revenues that rose by just 1% on a currency adjusted basis with a “slight decline” in North America. While that’s partly due to the failure of Toys’R’Us – a similar issue was cited by Mattel – U.S. imports suggest a recovery is anticipated. Seaborne shipments to the U.S. rose 4% and 7% in July and August respectively which may reflect new models and the off-cycle Star Wars film release.
