Mexico’s auto-makers accelerated their export growth in January with a 4.9% year over year expansion following a 1.8% rise in 4Q 2018. General Motors led the way with a 31.7% increase, though January does normally represent the seasonal trough for the year. The regulatory outlook for the automakers should be secured by the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Yet, USMCA has yet to be ratified by any of the three countries.
