New Zealand Quake Impact on Trade Minimal

Coronavirus 511 Corp - Ports 909 Mode - Seaborne 1845 New Zealand 36 U.S. 5399

The November 13 earthquakes that hit New Zealand do not appear to have a significant or lasting impact on trade. After 48 hours all ports except CentrePort in Wellington have reopened. That port only accounts for around 2% of New Zealand’s U.S.-bound exports, Panjiva data shows, with 37% coming from non-perishable wine. Some livestock shippers including Affco and Taylor Preston may need to delay or reroute exports however.
