EsCar-carrier NYK has set up a direct service from Europe to South America. That comes as Brazilian automotive imports have climbed 35% in the past year, led by a 99% surge in shipments from Europe. The largest potential user for the service, based on volumes in the past 12 months to April 30, is BMW (52% of volumes) followed by Volvo (15%).
