Stellantis engine plant loses drive while passing on higher costs in Brazil

Stellantis has furloughed around 1,000 workers at its engine operations in Indiana due to a shortage of semiconductors across its supply chain. The engines are normally destined for Brazil, where the firm’s CEO Carlos Tavares has noted “purchasing inflation on local components” which has been offset by “continuing to improve pricing”.
