Following 14% growth in the peak months of June and July, international cargo volumes handled by SeaTac airport increased just 1.6% on a year earlier in August. Activity in the region fell, however, as imports by sea into Tacoma fell 9% and Seattle 5.2% according to Panjiva data. This left the Panjiva Combined Cargo Index for the northwest 1.9% lower than a year earlier.
