Airbus’s CEO, Guillaume Faury, has stated that it is “too early to say” what the impact of a WTO ruling on EU subsidies provided to the firm will be in the longer-term. Faury has asserted that tariffs are “pernicious and could cause a slowdown”, particularly once the WTO rules on a related case regarding U.S. subsidies allegedly paid to Boeing. There are signs of accelerating deliveries of EU aircraft to the U.S. after a 15.8% year over year surge in 3Q. The U.S. retaliatory tariffs applied in the Airbus subsidy case also include alcoholic beverages. There are signs of stockpiling there....
