Brazil will decide on February 10 whether it needs to allow green coffee imports to offset a local shortfall. This challenge has been illustrated by a steady drop in exports, which fell 6% in December. Globally shipments from Vietnam, Colombia and Peru have offset Brazil’s falling supplies. That suggests Peruvian exporters including Perhusa and the local subsidiary of Olam may be best placed to take advantage of Brazil’s need.
