The U.S. Energy Department has initiated a 100-day review (through July 29) of ways to ensure the “continued security of U.S. critical electric infrastructure”. There are also updates to the Trump administration’s import restrictions which had previously prohibited shipments from China. U.S. imports of bulk power equipment from China declined by 6.0% year over year in the 12 months to Feb. 28 versus a 25.0% slide versus 2017.
