The U.S. Commerce Department has made final determinations that exports of Bombardier’s CSeries jet from Canada should be subject to tariffs. That’s not a surprise given the acrimony in the case, but is still subject to ITC approval. Bombardier has already reacted by selling part of its business to Airbus, which will produce the jet in the U.S., and appeals to the NAFTA dispute panel and WTO are possible.
