The U.S. ITA has confirmed that Chinese exports of the fertilized ammonium sulfate were subsidized, applying a duty of 207%. While this still needs final approval by the ITC, it already appears to have had the desired effect. Panjiva data shows U.S. imports fell 31% in the three months to November 30, with Chinese volumes falling 82%. The main winners have been Canadian manufacturers. All’s not lost for Chinese producers including Wuzhoufeng and Yantai Jiahe – exports to Indonesia expanded 24% over the same period.
