Cipla scales up imports as Moderna gets Indian vaccine nod

The Indian government has approved imports of Moderna’s SARS-COV-2 vaccine, to be handled by Cipla, as it seeks to tackle the pandemic via both imports and retention of domestically produced vaccines. Cipla’s supply chain activity has already been increasing with Indian imports linked to the firm up by 10.0% in April versus Q1’21 on a daily average basis. That included a 114.2% rise in active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
