The U.S. Commerce Department has set anti-dumping duties on elevator and conveyor belt drive parts from Canada and China of up to 400%. Panjiva data shows imports of the products concerned fell 10% in August on a year earlier, the sixth straight decline. Imports from Canada, including those by ABB’s Baldor Electric, have fallen 16% since the case was first brought by TC Woods in October last year, but Chinese exports have increased 5%. A final decision is due by December 5.
