Dumping Petitions Down as American Tariff Policies Remain in Flux

The U.S. ITC received five new petitions to investigate allegations of import dumping or intellectual property theft, as well as to assess new trade deals, in October. That was just one third of the same month a year earlier due to a lower rate of IP applications. Year-to-date antidumping requests are down vs. a year earlier at 15 petitions vs. 19, possibly reflecting the uncertainty as to coverage of Chinese exports and automotive industry products brought about by Trump administration policies.
