The U.S. Commerce Department has launched anti-dumping and subsidy investigations of Chinese steel shelving exports. The products targeted will also become subject to 10% duties as part of the Trump administration’s proposed sanctioning of $200 billion of Chinese exports. American imports of steel shelves covered by the case climbed 36% on a year earlier in the second quarter with Chinese shipments surging 54% higher.
