French business managers were their most upbeat on export orders since June 2011 in April. A net 1% see orders below normal compared to a long-term average of 14%. That came ahead of elections that will likely see centrist Emmanuel Macron win, and despite a slowdown in exports in February. This positivity comes at the same time as U.K. managers’ outlook hit the highest since April 2010. It isn’t all good news as shipments to the U.S. – France’s largest non-EU export partner – fell 1% in March, Panjiva data shows.
