Mattel boosted by Barbie, has a bad feeling about meeting demand surge

Mattel reported Q3’20 revenue growth of 10.1% year over year, well above the 1.7% decline expected by analysts after the firm experienced a surge in sales linked to the Barbie brand. The firm’s CEO, Ynon Kreiz, has stated that the toymaker’s “supply chain is fully operational” though “we cannot be certain we will fully meet the surge in consumer demand” after inventories fell to 55.7 days of sales from 63.2 days a year earlier. Total U.S. seaborne imports linked to the firm have improved in September with a 9.9% year over year though a drop in August mean Q3’20 imports rose by just 1.1%....
