Japanese automotive brake manufacturer Nisshinbo Holdings has decided not to proceed with a Mexican factory investment due to U.S. trade policy uncertainty. That comes on the eve of meetings between the Japanese Prime Minister and the U.S. President. Panjiva data shows Nisshinbo’s shipments to the U.S. had already been falling, with a 23% drop in the three months to January 31. It has also been underperforming its industry, with total U.S. brake imports falling only 4% over the same period.
