The U.S. ITC has, unusually, overruled a Department of Commerce decision to apply tariffs to Canadian and Chinese elevator and conveyor belt part exports. Panjiva data shows imports fell 10% on a year earlier in September, after the case was launched in October 2015. Canadian exports dropped 32%, whereas Chinese manufacturers appeared more relaxed – their exports fell just 2%.
