USDA Trade Undersecretary Ted McKinney has indicated that negotiations to improve access for American agricultural products to China have not made as much progress as expected. That includes rules for shipments of beef to China which were covered by last year’s 100 day comprehensive trade dialogue. Little will change in the short term given the Chinese government has threatened to cut agricultural imports in response to any new U.S. import duties.
