Quiet Month for ITC Petition Precedes Metal and China Tariff Storms

The U.S. ITC had a quiet month in February, with six new petitions relating solely to intellectual property infractions. These may pick up once the Trump administration’s section 301 review of Chinese IP practices is published. There were no anti-dumping cases launched in the month. That’s not unusual with the same having occurred last year is not unusual. Additionally 14 of the 25 AD/CV petitions in the past year related to steel or aluminum, which have now been covered by the administration’s section 232 tariffs on the whole sector.
