Remington Set To Unload Finance While Weapons Imports, Checks Decline

Handheld weapons manufacturer Remington is near to declaring chapter 11 bankruptcy after reduced fears about re-regulation in the U.S. cut into sales. There appears to be a broader decline in weapons purchasing interest after FBI background check data fell 9% in the fourth quarter on a year earlier and was unchanged in January. That can also be seen in ammunition imports which fell 49% in the fourth quarter and reached their lowest for a single month in December since April 2012.
