Resurgence of Steel Imports a Concern for U.S. Steel

China 3048 Metals - Steel 543 U.S. 5399

Steel manufacturer U.S. Steel’s stock fell 10% on Thursday, which Bloomberg reports was the result of investor concerns about a resurgence in steel imports from China after prices recovered recently. Panjiva data running through the end of April indicates exports from China to the U.S. of all steel products were 3.2% higher vs. March.
