Sysco finds new routes for growth as pandemic continues to weigh

Food-service supplier Sysco reported a 23.1% year over year slide in revenues in calendar Q4’20 as a result of restaurant and school closures, a result that was 5.3 percentage points lower than analysts’ expectations. An expected recovery has yet to occur with U.S. seaborne imports of food and supplies linked to the firm having fallen by 13.2% year over year in December and by as much as 37.3% in January based on preliminary data.
