Target Misses Toy Target and Baby Alive Grows Bigger Than Fingerlings

U.S. toy retailers appear to be taking a more optimistic stance ahead of the holiday sales season than last year. Total imports in the four months to Oct. 31 were 2.0% higher than a year earlier. While Chinese suppliers accounted for 84.5% of total U.S. imports in the past year, toys are not yet subject to tariffs. Retailers instead are focusing on taking market share formerly held by Toys’R’Us.
