Tesla has increased the list price of its electric vehicles in China by around 18% after the application of 25% duties on U.S. auto imports in retaliation for America’s tariffs on Chinese exports. Passenger cars broadly accounted for $10 billion of imports from the U.S. in the past 12 months or 29% of the American products targeted. Exports of electric vehicles from America to China from all manufacturers were worth $1.6 billion in the past 12 months – or 46% of total U.S. exports – after a 32% improvement in the past quarter.
