U.S. imports of generic drugs have fallen since the elections. Shipments by sea of the biggest four drug classes fell 3% in February on a year earlier, and by 23% for the three months to February 28 vs. the three months to end-November. That is likely the result of uncertainties around payment schemes due to the Trump administration’s failed attempt to reform the Affordable Care Act.
