The global shipbuilding industry may be heading for its worst year since 2008 after combined exports from China, Japan and South Korea fell 28.4% year-to-date vs. a year earlier to $58.4 billion. A slump in exports from South Korea has not been offset by a more recent improvement in shipments from China and Japan.
