The Chinese government has extended the range of products it restricts trade with North Korea in to include those covered by recent United Nations’ “dual use” sanctions. The delay of seven months since the UN resolution was passed compares to faster implementation before, but may have been spurred by recent meetings between President Xi and Supreme Leader Kim. China’s trade with North Korea fell 66% on a year earlier in February, with imports from North Korea having dwindled to just $9 million.
