Ghana has signed a deal with the China Development Bank to support investment of $10 billion in developing infrastructure for bauxite mining and primary aluminum production. Chinese imports of those products in total increased 21% in the past quarter after a prolonged downturn in 2016. While this is a long-term resources move, one challenge may come from trade restrictions on Chinese processed aluminum products.
