France’s trade deficit for October reached its highest since August 2014, and was 20% wider than economists expected. This resulted from a 2% drop in exports, blamed on a poor performance by the aerospace sector. The outlook for exports is mixed. French managers remain solidly negative in their outlook, with European partners becoming less positive too. The U.S. remains a bright spot – November shipments increased 4%, according to Panjiva data, on glass, dairy and pharmaceutical exports.
