The Thai government has banned the import of plastic waste after a surge in imports, following Vietnam and China in making such a move and creating a significant problem for global waste-stream supply chains. Malaysia may follow suit. The impact of such bans can be seen in U.S. exports of plastic waste which fell 16% in April vs. a year earlier after a 37% drop in the first quarter.
