The Brazilian government will be sending a delegation to discuss the U.S. section 232 review of steel and aluminum with the Commerce Department. While Brazil was only the sixth largest supplier of the products covered in 2017 it was the fastest growing top 10 country with a 49% rise on a year earlier. The debate will likely focus on the importance of Brazilian supplies of semi-finished steel that American manufacturers use to create higher value products.
