The U.S. ITC has made its final determination that American producers of biodiesel were harmed by exports from Argentina and Indonesia, allowing duties to be applied. That won’t change the current makeup of the market though as Argentine suppliers have been absent since August and Indonesia’s since December 2016. While total imports are down, underlying demand may still be robust though, with supplies from Canada and elsewhere in the world having risen 10% in the three months to February 28 on a year earlier.
