Brazil Sees Kombi-nation of Strong Auto Exports, Weak Local Sales

Brazil’s auto export boom continued for a sixth month in April after shipments jumped 48% on a year earlier. While exports were 14% lower than in March it was still the best performance for the month of April since at least 2008. Unfortunately the overseas revenues are necessary as domestic sales fell 4% – a pattern also seen in the U.S. Panjiva analysis of over 580 country-supplier pairs shows manufacturers use their Brazilian bases for many different markets.
