A strike by Brazilian truckers is disrupting commodity supply chains for both agriculture and metals. Rising fuel costs, which are also hurting ocean liners, have led truckers to restrict activity in delivery grains to farmers and raw materials to steel and aluminum producers among others. The meat industry had only just started to recover after safety scandals with exports of poultry having risen 30% in March on a year earlier and beef by 53%.
