Global coffee exports increased 1% on a year earlier in March, the eighth straight month of growth. That came despite a 13% drop in Brazilian shipments due to lower robusta production. Brazil’s shortfall was offset by higher shipments from Indonesia and Honduras as wet weather resulted in bumper crops in the peak season. U.S. buyers imported 17% more than a year earlier. That included a 33% rise in purchases from Brazil – mostly in arabicas – at the expense of shipments from Guatemala and other smaller suppliers.
