Freight forwarders running U.S.-inbound marine services saw a 7% surge in volumes in September, largely due to a rush in deliveries to beat extended tariffs on Chinese exports. Shipments from China rose 8% and accounted for 38% of all shipments in the third quarter. The Asia-focused specialists including OEC (up 16%) did best while UPS was one of the worst performers with a 5% decline.
