Jewelry and apparel-accessory retailer Charming Charlie has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after reaching a financial restructuring deal. The company plans to keep stores open over the holidays, and is another e-commerce competition victim. Evidence of its troubles can be seen in supply chain data going back to February when imports dropped 40% on a year earlier.
