China has started a mid-term review of duties applied to South Korean exports of solar-grade polysilicon. The original case from January 2014 does not appear to have deterred South Korean exporters. Panjiva data shows China’s total imports of all high grade silicons increased 51% in the nine months to September 30 vs. the same period in 2013, with imports from South Korea having climbed 75%. By contrast imports from the U.S. have fallen 46%. The matter has become more pressing with exports of solar equipment from China falling 33% in September vs. a year earlier.
