Data from CANSI shows Chinese shipbuilding orders in August hit their lowest since at least 2013, resulting in an orderbook that is the lowest since July 2013. This is hardly a surprise given the shipping industry’s troubles, but may continue with CMA-CGM delaying deliveries. Panjiva data shows Yangzijiang as the largest builder for export in the month of July, with total export earnings down 12% on a year earlier.
