Consumer demand returns global trade to growth in November

The value of global trade returned to growth in November, having risen by 5.6% year over year based on a sample of 31 countries plus the EU. Asian exports climbed 10.2% while Europe’s rose by just 0.04%. The latter was due to an improvement in EU exports being offset by a drop of 15.2% in U.K. exports in dollar terms after a slide in exports of oil and intermediate capital goods despite pre-Brexit stockpiling.
