A meeting between Germany’s automotive industry and the government has revealed concerns regarding the financial viability of small auto component makers. Continental has indicated that “dozens” of its suppliers may be in financial duress. S&P Global Market Intelligence data indicates that nine out of 93 suppliers linked to Continental have the lowest rated financial profile. Those include Sambo Motors which also supplies Fiat Chrysler and BorgWarner.
