The Indian government will investigate alleged dumping of solar cell exports from China, Malaysia and Taiwan. The case is wide-ranging in including both crystalline and thin film systems. Panjiva data shows Chinese exports to India climbed 59% on a year earlier in the 12 months to May 31. Chinese manufacturers including Trina Solar and Solarfun have become reliant on India as a growth market, and it accounted for 20% of exports in the past year vs. 4% three years ago. The case could therefore have a significant impact.
